It is going to take a good bit of time to do the job, which is what we expected to begin with. I already went in with a crew of guys and gutted parts of the building. We had to open things up so that there would be access to the the mechanical workings of the building. The big job will be getting a Singapore aircon servicing company to come and re do the air conditioning system. The thing that is in it can be fixed for a relatively inexpensive price and that is what we are going to do. It is sort of a hybrid approach. We are going to patch up the old system and supplement it with a small external unit that is going to be more efficient. I had to go back and forth on whether or not we wanted to just replace the system completely and put in a whole new system. That may have been the best long term solution, but in the short term it made things way too expensive.

Of course I am not going to be operating the building. The guy who is gave me a budget and in the end this was his decision, because I told him what it would cost to do it that way and I explained the difference. So he can deal with the repercussions, it is his building after I get done with the work after all. It is his money in the end as well and he has to figure out what he can afford in the short term and what he should do over the long haul. I am guessing that he intends to sell the building as soon as he finds someone who will give him the price that he wants for it.
